How do we measure happiness or contentment?
To what do we aspire? What would it take to find your perfect state of being?
Here is what some Year 11 students said about Happiness:
Can we be truly happy?
Below are some screengrabs from the animated film Wall-E.
Okay, so it is an imaginative tale, but the art of great animation is to observe true things and then exaggerate them...

Maybe the world pictured in the obese far-future is closer to us than we are ready to admit?
Has materialism robbed us of contentment?
The film below was made six weeks into the building of an eco-village. I had the opportunity to chat with some of the organisers about their philosophy and life aims. The interesting thing for me was the contrast between their community and the world that was rushing past. As you watch this film it is worth asking yourself whether they have found something that most of us have lost. It was quite a challenge to meet people that had seemingly stepped out of the pressures that most Western consumerists live under.
It is really interesting to see the reactions that this film gets from students. Get in touch if you have any thoughts.
