Epilogue what?

Based on virtually all of my chats with non-christian people I can say that they find it amazing that christians have any intellectual rigour whatsoever. Most of the time there is incredulity and surprise at any suggestion that being a christian is something you can use your mind for. While evidence and argument will never 'prove' it in the way that you might work out my DNA using scientific analysis, there is a substantial and reassuring amount of evidence that accompanies the outrageous claims of Jesus Christ. The aim of this strip is to turn the tables and highlight the regular conclusion (in my experience) that prejudice and narrow mindedness often keep people from becoming convinced by christian truth.

The letter Y is a key player in this strip, and it follows a strong symmetry which I really enjoyed using. The afro character is loosely based on myself as my dad, who had a magnificent one in the 1970s.

The story in Luke is known as the 'Prodigal' or lost son. It is about family reunion after some difficult times. This is a slightly different take on that story about something which happened to me. The most helpful thing to say here is that part of the key for me to find reconciliation in the particular situation required letting go of past baggage - hence the bin.

This has very little text for good reason. I think it works well as it is.

I think that this is becoming more readily apparent as newer technological devices achieve a greater saturation of our culture: we are being cut off from the very thing promised to us: community and social networking.

I'm not very happy with the drawing in this one, but it's worth saying that the location is based on the place opposite Borders in Kingston Upon Thames.

Hebrews 12 (see Bible text) is big on linking the idea of perseverance and the olympics. I'm not entirely sure if this is all that clear, it's probably a little too dense, verbally.
